Asia Pacific

Asia Pacific iGaming Operator

Gamesys

When Gamesys acquired Vera & John with the Intertain acquisition, the success of its Japanese venture was becoming apparent but its progress since then has been stratospheric.

Japan contributed 28 per cent of Gamesys total revenue in its last statement before its merger with Bally’s, with the Asian business as a whole almost a third of total revenue. At the half-year stage, Asia revenue was up 30 per cent, following a 2020 during which revenue grew by 80 per cent.

Beyond Vera & John in Japan, the company has taken other great steps in Asia. In 2020 it relaunched its InterCasino brand and its B2B business is going from strength to strength. Its Asian-facing game aggregation business Solid Gaming houses over 6,000 games from more than 60 game providers and processes over one billion transactions per month.

Last but not least, the company’s Golden Hero games studio is releasing Asian-themed games that have only aided its success. While others shy away from Asia, Gamesys has embraced it and been rewarded with market leadership in Japan and an Asian business with revenues of around a quarter of a billion pounds.
