Flutter’s Sportsbet achieved the remarkable feat of winning over 50 per cent of the Australian online sports betting market during the first half of 2021.

The 50 per cent market share landmark came after a phenomenal first half performance that suggests a permanent step change in the operator’s scale that none of its rivals can match. Indeed, few operators can claim to have dominated a relatively mature market quite so magnificently.

Sportsbet has no doubt benefited from Australia’s ongoing stay-at-home restrictions but Covid-19 had a smaller impact during the first half of the year than it did on Flutter’s UK and Ireland operations.

Fast growing active player numbers boosted half-year and Q3 revenues by 27 per cent and 20 per cent respectively, with the brand achieving a compound annual growth rate of 21 per cent for the past five years.

Inspirational CEO Barni Evans leads an experienced team that is taking Sportsbet to the next level. With a focused local product that evolves with innovative features every year, you can expect Sportsbet’s success to run and run.
